About Lisa Waichunas

Lisa Waichunus - Theatre on the GreenAt the age of 10, Lisa got hooked on theatre when her brother, who was playing Oliver's father in the musical at the historic Athenaeum Theatre in Chicago, invited her to play an orphan as they were having trouble finding boys. Lisa fondly remembers playing in the orchestra pit with the other "orphans" after repeatedly being told not to.

Lisa graduated from De Paul University with a B.S. in Commerce and lived in Chicago for 20 years where she studied acting at the Ted Liss Studio. Lisa received Stanislavski-based classical training and also studied Shakespeare with Sir Jeffrey Conner of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London.

Lisa has appeared in numerous regional theatrical productions. Credits include Dr. Livingstone in "Agnes of God", Blanche DuBois in "A Streetcar Named Desire", Juror No. 4 in "Twelve Angry Jurors", Anne Shakespeare in "A Cry of Players", Nurse Ratched in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest", and Hecate in "Macbeth".

Film credits: the television series, "Early Edition", and numerous roles in industrial training films in Chicago and Milwaukee. Lisa's favorite role is Betty the Bad Employee for a series of Walgreens training films.

Lisa's second passion, teaching, prompted Lisa to earn a Certificate in Elementary Education and a Master of Arts in Teaching.
